Zenit St Petersburg striker Alexander Kerzhakov believes sub-zero temperatures in Russia will not play to his side's advantage in their Champions League last-16 clash against Benfica.
Thermometers are set to drop to minus 15 degrees centigrade at the Petrovsky Stadium on Wednesday night, with the freezing conditions likely to affect the visiting team more than the hosts.
Zenit booked their place in the knockout stages for the first time in their history with a goalless draw against Porto and will go in search of another Liga scalp in their tie against Benfica.
However, the Portuguese side will be tough opponents after they reached the last 16 by topping a group which contained Manchester United, who were knocked out of the competition thanks in part to the 2-2 draw at home to the Liga side.
Despite this, Kerzhakov remains confident that the Russian Premier League champions can get a result, with their only advantage in the testing conditions a packed stadium of home support.

The UEFA Champions League AC Milan vs Arsenal
Arsene Wenger tonight said he would not waste his time if he did not believe Arsenal can beat AC Milan and go on to win the Champions League.
The Rossoneri currently lead Juventus at the top of Serie A, with Massimiliano Allegri's men looking to make up for last season's defeat at the same stage of the competition to Tottenham by dumping the Gunners out of Europe.
Arsenal go into tomorrow's first leg of their last 16 tie on the back of successive Barclays Premier League wins which have propelled them back up into the top four.
Wenger, whose side recorded a famous 2-0 win on their last visit to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza against the then holders four seasons ago, maintains the Gunners mean business.

Cricket CB Series, Adelaide India vs Sri Lanka
Nearly two months after landing in Australia, India finally enter a match as the more confident team. The monstrous last-over six from MS Dhoni which helped secure victory on Sunday made it two wins in two for India, and leaves Sri Lanka desperate for a win to stay in touch with the other two sides.
Dhoni's finishing skills and Gautam Gambhir's return to form may have grabbed most of the attention after the win over Australia, but India will be happier that two of their usual weaknesses were overcome. Firstly, the fielding was sharp; Virender Sehwag's diving catch to dismiss David Hussey snapped Australia's momentum. Also, the fast bowlers combined to put in a solid death-bowling performance, giving away only 57 runs in the final 10 overs to limit Australia to 269, when 300 seemed possible at one stage.

Cricket New Zealand vs Zimbabwe
With most people's attention already shifted towards New Zealand's home series against South Africa, which promises to be their real test of the summer, the final Twenty20 against Zimbabwe at Hamilton seems like a mere formality. Zimbabwe have barely put up a fight through the tour, a disappointment considering how competitive they were when they hosted New Zealand last year. Their bowlers have struggled to contain a rampaging Martin Guptill, who has five consecutive half-centuries in this series, and a set of newcomers, who're auditioning for the bigger challenge of the summer.
Zimbabwe's batsmen put up their best performance of the tour during the first Twenty20, at Eden Park. They may not have done full justice to the batting surface, putting up a par score of 159, but they showed some signs of improvement, at least in terms of staging partnerships. Unfortunately, the bowlers failed to back them up, despite getting two early wickets. They have one last chance to rectify their errors and possibly catch New Zealand off guard.

The UEFA Europa League Sporting Braga vs Besiktas
Besiktas coach Carlos Carvalhal will be going home when he takes the Black Eagles to Braga for the first leg of their Europa League last-32 clash.
The 46-year-old is a former player and coach of the Portuguese side and grew up in the town, something he admitted played on his mind when the draw was made.
"My house is not far from the Estadio Municipal de Braga,'' Carvalhal told www.uefa.com. "I can see it from my window.
"I had a strange feeling after the draw. At first I didn't want it, now I am looking forward to it. Braga is my home town and my old team, where I played for years. I will be playing a club I know very well.''
Besiktas became the first Turkish side to top a European qualifying group when they beat Stoke in December to win Group E.
But, hampered by injury problems, they have taken only one point from their last four Super Lig games and will be without midfielder Roberto Hilbert (hamstring) for both legs while Ismail Koybasi (groin) is a doubt.
Besiktas reached the same stage last season, but were thrashed 8-1 on aggregate by Dynamo Kiev, and Carvalhal knows they face another tough test against last season's beaten finalists.

The UEFA Europa League Rubin Kazan vs Olympiacos Piraeus
Olympiacos will look to put their agonising Champions League exit behind them tomorrow when they begin their Europa League campaign at Rubin Kazan.
The Greek champions looked certain to secure a place in the knockout phase of Europe's premier club competition moments before the end of the final Group F fixtures just over two months ago.
But Marseille then scored twice in the final five minutes of their match at Borussia Dortmund to snatch second place and leave previously-jubilant Olympiacos fans stunned.
Ernesto Valverde's men have seemingly refused to wallow in the misery of such a cruel denouement, winning 11 and losing just one of their subsequent 13 matches to lie just two points behind Panathinaikos at the top of the Greek Super League.
But memories of their Champions League failure will doubtless return to the forefront of their minds when they take to the field in Russia tomorrow.
In fact, the field they take to will be an artificial one, with the first leg of the last-32 tie having been moved from Kazan to Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium.

The UEFA Champions League Olympique Lyon vs APOEL Nicosia FC
Lyon coach Remi Garde hopes the Champions League will provide a welcome distraction from his side's Ligue 1 travails after Saturday's dismal defeat to Caen.
Les Gones are fourth in the league but their eighth defeat of the season left them 11 points adrift of leaders Paris St Germain and Garde joined club president Jean-Michel Aulas in demanding an immediate response against APOEL Nicosia.
"We have eight defeats in the league, which is far too many,'' Garde told olweb.fr.
"We have a difficult meeting with APOEL. When you play often you have to find a way to lift yourself, I hope that the Champions League can help us do that.''
Aulas was stronger in his condemnation, adding: "We have to take a look at ourselves and work out what we did wrong before the Champions League match.
"You have to react when you lose at home to the team 16th in the league.''
Dejan Lovren and Anthony Lopes are sidelined by injury but goalkeeper Remy Vercoutre, who was an unused substitute against Caen after returning from injury, has been added to the European squad along with loan signing Hamdan Al Kamali in place of the departed Lamine Gassama and Ishak Belfodil.
